Noted OTR Wind Symphony To Perform For “Christmas Peace”

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 2:00 pm, historic Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (POP), at 1528 Race Street in Over-the-Rhine (OTR), will welcome the Queen City Concert Band (QCCB) for a free performance showcasing the harmonious sounds of the season. A variety of Christmas classics will be performed by the QCCB, including traditional carols like ‘What Child Is This,’ festive selections such as ‘Sleigh Ride’ and many others.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, which is currently celebrating its 150th anniversary, is an incredibly beautiful space with great acoustics,” exclaims QCCB associate conductor, Tasha Aragaki Nakahodo. “We’re very excited to play in this space.”

POP Pastor John Suguitan explains that part of the Church’s mission is to serve all people in the inner city of Cincinnati (OTR) and the surrounding community. “Whether we’re proclaiming the Good News of Jesus’ Salvation, opening our doors for Wednesday 6pm devotion and free community meal, providing Saturday and Sunday to-go breakfast for those experiencing homelessness, serving the spiritual needs of our community through worship services and Bible study, or simply presenting a wonderful holiday concert like Christmas Peace, it fills our hearts and gives light to all who enter here.”

Convenient paid parking is available at the southwest corner of Race & Liberty streets and at Elm & Liberty streets, underground paid parking garage under Washington Park (entrance on Race Street at 13th Street), and metered spaces can be found on the streets surrounding the church. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is also located at a streetcar stop (Liberty & Race streets), which currently is free to ride.
A Cookie & Punch Reception will follow the performance.
