Memorial Hall To Present Veterans Salute
Featuring A Special Performance by the Queen City Concert Band
OVER-THE-RHINE – The century old Hamilton County Memorial Hall will host a free concert to honor military Veterans and their families on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2:00pm.
The program will begin with a Color Guard representing all branches of the U.S. Military. The Queen City Concert Band will be on stage to perform patriotic selections, along with popular pieces from the American band literature.
A number of distinguished speakers will be on hand to briefly address the audience as well.
Following the program, a complementary cookie and punch reception will be held in the Hall’s beautiful Parkview Room, courtesy of Fantasy in Frosting Bakery in Newport.
People in attendance who wish to explore the amazing and historic Hamilton County Memorial Hall building, will be assisted by the guides of American Legacy Tours.
Memorial Hall Executive Director Teresa Summe-Haas offers this perspective… “The valor, courage and commitment displayed by the men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces is a gift that we, as free American citizens, can never repay. We can, however, take time to express our sincere gratitude to these brave souls and their devoted families. This is why we encourage everyone to reach out to a Veteran and join us for this moving tribute.”
The concert is free and open to the public, with no tickets required. Voluntary donations will be accepted with proceeds benefiting the Homeless Veterans.
Memorial Hall is located at 1225 Elm Street, at the heart of Washington Park, in Over-the-Rhine. Convenient paid parking is available in the Central System lot, immediately adjacent to Memorial Hall, and nearby in the newly opened Washington Park Garage.
